I went to see Adam Carolla at the San Jose Improv last night so we walked around and decided to stop at Gordon Biersch Brewery for some drinks and dinner before hand. I had read some reviews, and heard the service outside wasn't that great, but with as nice of a night as it was we decided to risk it. People definitely weren't lying. Our waiter was pretty bad. Didn't come around until we were pretty much done to ask how things were, and would quickly scurry by without ever making eye contact with his tables. Anyway, the food. We started with the crab and artichoke dip ($9.95) which I'd heard was good. It was great. Served bubbling hot with some bruschetta. It was really good and definitely the highlight of the meal. My wife ordered a 1/2 salad and 1/2 turkey sandwich ($9.95). The salad looked really good, full of all kinds of greens and other things going in. The turkey sandwich looked pretty decent. Definitely didn't skimp on the turkey. I ordered the Marzen BBQ Chicken Sandwich ($10.50). It was your typical chicken sandwich, with a side of their garlic fries. The Fries were good, but the sandwich pretty much outrite sucked. It literally had no flavor to it. All I could taste was bun, and this was with me even ordering an extra side of BBQ to put on it. In all, a pretty unmemorable experience foodwise but not a bad place to hang out on the patio for a while and drink beers and maybe get some appetizers. Was wishing we would have stopped by their after the show as it looked like a live band was setting up which would have been cool outside.
